Dr. Kürşat Mustafa Karaoğlan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Karabük University, Turkey. He received his PhD in Computer Engineering in 2022. His research interests include artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning.
He has published studies in international journals such as Neurocomputing, Applied Soft Computing, and Tribology International. He has also supervised master’s theses on topics including sentiment analysis, time series anomaly detection, and image classification. With over 13 years of academic experience, he has taken part in various administrative duties and conference organizations.

Content: This presentation provides a comprehensive introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP) and the evolution of language models. Part 1 covers fundamental NLP concepts including tokenization, n-grams, and probabilistic models. Part 2 traces the development of language models from statistical methods (N-grams) through neural networks (RNN/LSTM) to modern Transformer-based architectures.
